New site promotion website - 20 million hits

I have found this website called 20 Million Hits which can promote your site. You can either pay to subscribe or become a free member. I am a free member so I can only really explain how this part works. You sign up and let them know what your website is. They then verify it and let you know if it has been accepted. you then complete the registration process which involves looking at 8 websites for 30 seconds each. These are websites of people who have subscribed to the program and this I think is the way that your site gets promoted. Every time you get new referrals signing up your website gets shown to them. When they sign people up it also gets shown to them and there are 8 levels in the downline. I think that as this is free to join it is worth signing up to. I hope that you agree! MyLot.com

I thought it might be useful to explain how myLot. This is a website where you get paid for starting and contributing to discussions on any subject. The exact amount that you get paid is not specified and I think this is probably because it may depend on how much revenue the site is making from the advertising on it. This is what they say about earning in their help section: We have implemented a system to give everyone who uses the internet the ability to make money. The idea is pretty simple - if you contribute to the myLot Community - whether it is by posting a new discussion, responding to a current discussion, commenting on a current discussion, or referring friends, you earn money. Our goal is to provide internet users a place to earn money using the web on a day to day basis and provide access to information they need. We pay each and every member of myLot based on their level of activity. As stated previously all you need to do is sign up for a myLot account and we do the rest. They have a minimum withdrawal amount of $10. They pay into Paypal and eGold. There is a great blog here which has a lot of hints on how to earn lots of money using the site.

News Update

I had a message from Good Leads Only stating that they will no longer be accepting International subscribers, just those from UK, USA, canada and Australia as the type of offers that they have tend to be only open to those countries. They have stated that their sister company International offers is still accepting members from every country. This is a similar site where you pay to register on various websites and there are also some pay to click adverts on the site as well. They have a small minimum payment amount of $1 for Paypal, but I have already made one sucessful withdrawal. On a differen't note I found 28p in two pence pieces today in at some amusements in a town we were visiting. This takes my total to £3.39.

I have Earn't Some More Money!

Having spent my £5 earnings opening a virgin games account through Quidco my balance was down to £0.02. Yesterday I sold the pencil case on eBay . It sold for £1.99 but once I took away the Paypal and eBay fees I made only £1.40. Initially I was disappointed but then realised that 40% return in 10 days is pretty good! I also drew more money out of GoodLeads Only due to my referrals working hard and them having some new websites that I registered with for free. I drew out a further £1.20. I also drew out of International Offers as I reached the minimum payout level of $1 and wanted to see if they were as quick to pay as GoodLeads Only. They were which is great and I got £0.49 from them. I also recieved a packet of Tooty Frooty sweets. This was from a site called Your Secret Code as far as I can tell it is for UK residents only. It is a PTS site as well and as someone recommended I take a look I signed up and registered on a free website and they sent me a packet of sweets as a reward. You can save up your rewards and get better prizes etc. I am only really interested in earning money but I thought I would mention this one in case anyone is interested. I also had a payout from Ciao from doing some surveys. I received a payment straight into my bank account for £8.36. I am not counting it towards this project as I did the surveys ages ago and had just forgotten to check my account balance and see if it was above the £5 minimum required for withdrawal. I think this site is only open to UK residents but it is a great little earner too. So with it was a great day all in all. I made £3.09 all together taking my new total to £3.11.

Wealth Toolbox

I have just joined a new share scheme called Wealth Toolbox. I am not really sure how useful it will be but I decided that it was worth a go. All you have to do is go to the site and put in your email address. You get an email back where you need to click a link to confirm your email address and your account is opened. Your account is automatically deposited with $50 which is invested on the stock exchange for you. For every referral you get another $50 is deposited for you. In 24 months time you can draw the money out. I have a feeling that once a lot of people have signed up they will ask for you to invest additional money to keep the accounts open. Even More ways to Earn

I have been trying out a few more sites to earn money. I have found a PTS site called International Offers and it is owned by the same company as Good Leads Only. It is a similar site where you get paid for signing up to websites. Unlike Good leads Only you do not get paid for signing up there is a minmum withdrawal amount. But it is only $1 for paypal and $0.10 for egold. Good Leads Only is doing great for me still. I now have 40 referrals and have not been doing that much promotion. They currently have some fantastic offers. You can sign up to a poker website and if you deposit $50 Good Leads Only will give you $54 or wager $50 at a casino and get $51. I would have a go myself if I had any money left in my stake! I have also been using another similar site called Quidco. This site only pays out monthly but there are some deals on there which can really earn some good money. I linked before to an article about it and how it all works here. I have been having a go and seem to be building up some money there but it is yet to all be validated and paid. This site takes a while to validate the transactions. I spent £5 on Virgin Games using this site - if you sign up and gamble £5 Quidco will pay you £10. This seemed like a great opportunity so I have spent £5 of my earnings on it. I plan to do a similar thing with my earnings as I receive them as there are lots of similar deals on this website.

More Opportunities to Earn

I have been trialing a couple more pay per click email companies. Although I have not made enough to draw anything out yet, as far as I can tell they look good. I thought they would therefore be worth mentioning here. The first is called Berrymails.com and the other is called rns-topfuel.com. They both seem very similar. You get sent emails, click the paid links and then get paid. They both seem to have pretty low minimum amounts for drawing out earnings and they both pay into Paypal. My earnings from MyLot are also building up nicely. This is a website where you get paid for starting and contributing discussions. It is a great place to get advice and to read about other peoples experiences making money. Discussions can be on any subject so there is always plenty to read and chat about. I have also managed to sign up a lot of referrals for Good Leads Only. I now have 30 level 1 referrals and 5 level 2 referrals and I have earned enough from them to draw out a further £1.06, so thank you to everyone who has signed up. This takes my current balance to £5.01 which is fantastic. Lastly I would like to draw your attention to the Doublers Den Forum. This is a great place to meet other doublers or just read about their experiences or pick up hints.

Making Money by Selling on Ebay

I have been selling on eBay for about 5 years now. I currently have an item that I bought with funds made from this project for sale on there. I have noticed that quite a few fellow doublers are doing a similar thing. Therefore I thought it might be useful to pass on some of the knowledge that I have gained about selling on eBay. New Way to Make Some Money

I have just been reading about a great way to make some extra money as long as you have at least £10 to invest. I have not yet reached this stage yet (i only have £2.22) but I am investigating and planning my next move and thought that it would be worth sharing the idea. How Much I have made so far

I thought it was about time I did a summary of how much money I have made so far. I am only including money that I have actually received rather than money that I am earning on projects which have a minimum payout that I have not reached. Initial £1 found in car park - spent on ebooks, none have yet sold Goodleadsonly generated £1.68 - spent £1 on a pencil case - which is being auctioned on ebay Currently have £0.68 outstanding which I am holding onto as I have just made another withdrawal from Goodleadsonly this time slightly less at $2.98 which I hope to pool with my outstanding £0.68 to make a better investment. I am still feeling very tempted to use some of the money to buy a lottery ticket but I know this wouldn't teach me anything about wise investing and so would defeat the object of the exercise. I also need to think of another way to generate income rather than trading on eBay. I already do this in my other business and although I am picking items I would't normally sell I really need to step out of my comfort zone.

My Next Investment

Today I made my first withdrawal from my Good Leads Only account. It was only $3.372 but I wanted to make a purchase with it. It has been sent to my Paypal acount, which is great. I have spent the one pound that I made on a pencil case set that I found in my local charity shop. I think it should be able to double its value on eBay. How to get your first pound

I have realised that it seems to be the initial stages that are actually harder than the later ones. I have lots of ideas how I can invest money once I have accumulated some but getting some to start is proving slower than I thought. I thought it might be useful to point out some ways of doing it : Good Leads Only- Get paid $2.50 just to signup and there is no minimum withdrawal amount. This could generate your starting £1 stake. MyLot - Get paid for contributing to discussions there is a minimum withdrawal amount of $10. Payout is monthly and it is pretty easy to make at least that much money a month. Adpaid - Get paid for clicking links in emails. Earnings are low but very easy and the minimum withdrawal amount is only $3. YouGov - Get paid for answering interesting surveys. Payment is about 50p per survey and payout is at £50 by cheque. It does take a while but I have been paid twice. Ciao - Earn money by answering surveys. Can withdraw at just £5 and the surveys tend to pay between 50p and £2 each although they aren't that frequent. I have been paid 4 times. A Few More Thoughts

I have had some more thoughts about how I am going to conduct this project, that I thought I would share with you. I am going to keep a bank account solely for putting in the money I earn from this project. I will only draw out of it to invest in money making activities. I think that if I do not do this I am likely to just spend my profits and when it comes to reinvesting not have the money there to spend. (Especially as I want a new Laptop!!) I have decided to donate all of the money I make from MyLot into this fund. I have got a fair balance in my account with them now and as most of the money I am earning there is from getting ideas for this project. I also have an adsense account which is gaining revenue from all of my websites. I have set up channels for each of my websites and when I get paid at $100, I will put the earnings from this blog into my fund. I have also signed up to a get paid for reading email scheme with admail. The payments are small but I feel that it is very little effort to earn it so worth a try.

Blog Link Exchange

For those of you who are writing blogs and interested in making money from them this is a great opportunity. It is a geat way of driving new traffic to your blog, as well as discovering new blogs and getting higher google page rankings. The idea came from Mack Collier of The Viral Garden Blog who decided to create what he called a z-list. This is a list of blogs, that could be related to yours or might just be ones that you like and post them into an article like I am doing. You do not include your own blog as this is not really in the spirit of the idea (as it came about from good hearted bloggers wanting to help each other out), but it is expected that anyone who uses the idea would put a link to your site in their list. Selling the ebooks

I have been advised to sell the ebooks on eBay. I know that eBay are really tightening up on the sale of Ebooks so I have listed it very carefully. They need proof that you hold the copyright of the book or else they will remove the listing. As these books have the copyright passed on when sold then I am sure it will be fine. I have made it very clear in my listing that I hold the copyright. My listing can be found here, if you are interested in looking. I decided not to put too much detail in it as I find that if an ebay description is too long I don't bother reading it. I will let you know how I get on.

Some great ways to make money

In one of my previous posts I mentioned some ways that you could earn money in order to get your starting money for the project. I have just come across a really useful website which has a list of sites which can be used to make money online. It also states how much the writer has gained so far from the site. It is a great looking site and I would recommend that you take a look. Thesite is called Money Online. I hope that it helps some of you. Unfortunately I have still not managed to double my intial pound as no one has bought the ebooks from me. I am wondering whether this perhaps wasn't a good roue to follow after all. I write and used to publish quality ebooks without resale rights. I have always thought that those with resale rights made it look like all ebooks were rubbish. I am not saying the ones I bought were rubbish, in fact they looked pretty good, but that was my previous attitude towards them. I wonder if this mental barier is preventing me selling any. I would be interested to know whether any one else agrees with me.

Day 2 - I've spent my first pound!

After looking for second hand books to sell yesterday I decided to not go down that route. My other business is in selling books and I feel that I should use this exercise to learn about doing new things not sticking with what I know I can already do. How to start

I just realised that most people reading this will not have been lucky enough to have found money to start the project. I do think that it works better if you do not just start with money that you have, but money that you have either made solely for the purpose of this scheme or have found. Then you know that it is a completely risk free process as you have invested no money in it at all. You could of course ask someone to give you the money. You risk them saying no of course or they may want to know why. If you explain what you are doing there is the risk that they tell you it is a silly idea and put you off before you start (as not everyone is as optomistic as me and you) - so approach this option with caution. I would suggest that you could earn some money online. There are websites such as http://www.ciao.co.uk which pays you for taking part in surveys. You get paid when you have earned at least £5. The time it takes to earn this will depend on whether they have relevant surveys for you to answer but I have managed to earn this is a few weeks (answering only about 5 surveys which took 20 minutes each). Yes it does take some time but you do then have £5 to start with not just £1. Another great site is www.mylot.com . Where you can take part in discussions and earn money for your responses. They pay out once you have earned at least $10. I have earned nearly $10 in 9 days which I think is pretty good going! There are lots of these types of schemes out there and the good thing is that once you do earn your intial stake for the project, you can continue to earn from them afterwards. It is probably best to ask around to see what people find earns them the most and play around with a few sites to see what is likely to keep your interest and earn you the most. You could of course buy something and then sell it again and use the profits to start the project. EBay is a great site for doing this. If you haven't yet got an eBay account you can sign up or login here. Someone on mylot has recommended a blig creation website. She says that you get paid for every post that you make. When we out today my husband said that he would find another pound. Funnily enough he did find one. But it was one he saw someone drop and of course he gave it back to them. It just shows that you have to be very specific when you decide to do something - he should have said he would find another pound which he could keep! He also suggested that perhaps I doubled my pound by buying a car. He said that you can buy cars for one pound frm garages which have been taken in part exchange and they don't want to pay for it to be scrapped. I thought this was an interesting idea but not something that I felt like doing. However, I thought that I would share the idea in case anyone thought that they could do it. Day 1 - more challenging than I thought!

I thought my first day would be easy. From reading other people's blogs they seem to just find money lying around in the street to make their first double-up. However, I have just been out and have found nothing! I was looking really hard as well. I wonder if people in the UK just look after their money better! In the US people seem to make money by picking up cans and bottles which they canhand in for recycling and get paid. We can't do that here. I decided that a good first stratedgy would be to go into Oxfam and find something in there to buy and then sell on eBay. I went in and I didn't find anything useful. I found a few books which were more than a pound and bought them to sell on eBay and some other cheaper books which I will hold on to for a bit. If anyone has any ideas to start me off I woudl appreciate it!

My first pound

If you have read my earlier posts you will see that I told my husband about my idea to double one pound twenty times to make one million pounds. He was all in favour of the idea and came home from work with a pound coin that he had found in the car park at work and gave it to me as my starting stake. Fantastic, now all I have to do is think of a way to double it!

Turn one pound into a million

Having been posting on www.mylot.com for a while I came across a section about making money. This tended to be full of ideas of making money through recieving emails, posting message etc. These were all great but didn't seem to be fast enough or generate eough income for me. However, I came across a blog about how to make money from blogs which gave me some ideas and led me to another blog about the money doubling principle. I decided to give it a go and told my husband about it.

How the Idea Began

I have been trying to think of ways to make money for the last few years with the main aim of paying off my mortgage and then building my own house. I have managed to reduce my spending a bit and increase my savings but actually earning more is not so easy. I run my own businesses and do other things on the side to get extra cash. However I found out about a scheme which I just felt I had to try. I will tell you about it in the next article. It was a great challange, I didn't need to invest anything and it would teach me lessons about making money. It felt like the opportunity I had been looking for.
