Spending Entrecard Points

I have been wondering what to do with all of the Entrecard points I seem to be accumulating. I did try advertising on cheap blogs initially and did not get many clicks as a result. I have considered selling them on eBay. I was also wondering whether to give some away in a contest promoting my blog. However, I have made a decision to save up lots and use them to advertise on http://www.johnchow.com. I feel that it is well worth experimenting and seeing what sort of results, having one days exposure on this hugely popular blog will do for me. There is a 12 day waiting time for the ad and it costs 4096 points which is very expensive - in fact among the dearest sites to advertise on. I have a theory that advertising on some dearer sites will be much more effective than on cheaper ones as hopefully they will have more traffic and more clicks. I will report back if it works.

Hi Rachel, 4096 is a very expensive! I think a lot of bloggers who have lots of credits usually give them away in a contest. I did some research on ebay and I don't think you can get a lot of money out of it, I think it might be possible for you to sell them on EC too, not sure. I hope it works for you. Woof!

I know it is expensive, I noticed there are only a few sites which are this dear. I did notice that people were offering some interesting things in the Entrecard shop in exchange for points so I might take a look at what they have to offer as well.

The best method I've found is to advertise on the mid range of 64 to 256 ECs and once in a while picks a high priced one that I visit frequently.

Thank you for the advise. I will certainly give that a go. I have spent my balance on the expensive advert and bought some stumbles from the Entrecard shop but once I build up some more points, I will try some mid range advertising from sites that I have seen appearing a lot when I have been dropping.

Can you share with me how much EC credits that you have accumulated? I have successfully accumulated 50k EC credit so far and that is my highest record. Now, I'm using it to advertise on blogs and some I sell it. Now, I have about 30k EC left. Thinking of reaching 100k EC sooner.

Who don't want to advertise on JohnChow blog? Please share with us the outcome.

I only had 4100 credits (I have only been using Entrecards for a week)and used half of them to advertise on John Chow - fortunately I got it for half price as I timed it very well. I used the rest in the Entrecards shop so have hardly any credits now at all. I have to wait 11 days before my John Chow advert goes up so I will blog about it when the time comes.

You will get alot of traffic from Johnchow's blog. To get the best effect make sure that on the day your Ad runs you put forward your best content and get your RSS feed higly visible to get the best value for your Credits

Did you check out the popularity number for this blog? I realize that only matters to Entrecard users, but his score is only 611, another site with the same exact score goes for 256ec/day! The site with the highest popularity rating of 2328 goes for 2048ec/day. I don't get how Entrecard comes up with these numbers. Sure there is a lot of people waiting to get their ad on this particular site, so that accounts for the price, but wouldn't these same people be dropping on his card and therefore raising the popularity numbers? Just doesn't make sense to me. Will be awaiting your next post on how your card did on this site. I personally don't have the ec's to ever put my card on there. By the way, how on earth do you get 50k ec's?

I think that his popularity number could be low because he probably doesn't do much dropping himself. Among make money online bloggers, his site is extremely popular but obviously less so among Entrecard users.

You can buy points and get them from other people, win them in contests etc and I assume that is what some people are doing. I have two widgets on two sites and would think that if I did 300 drops a day on each site, I could probably get a good few thousand a week especially if a lot of people wanted to advertise too.

Hi,

I think you can advertise in the Johnchow.com blog and post your report here.

I am also accumulating the EC for float an ad in the blog.

I think it is better to stay away from the very high priced blogs, and continue to use your credits on more mid-priced sites, as well as cheap new blogs, as you find they are often a good bargain.

I came to this conclusion after reading this post in a blog-

What do you think?
