My total earnings this month were £814.73. I bought an ebook on marketing websites for £4.14, which was all I spent. I was hoping to reach my target of £1000 this month but missing a few days of work really took its toll on my earnings. However, I am still pleased with how much I manged to earn in the last few days to bring my balance up to a respectable amount.

I have earned so much from writing articles, blogposts on forums and commenting that I made a whole new section on the summary chart. This is really helping to make up for the lack of Pay Per Post earnings. I am also pleased to see that my passive income (from banners through Matched and Money4Banners as well as from my investment in Jem Investments) is still reasonable. Ideally I need more ways to increase the passive income side of things.

Pay Per Post

I have been looking at my earnings for this month trying to work out why they are nit quite so high as last month. It seems that it is pretty much due to the lack of Pay Per Post opportunities. I made £350 last month from Pay Per Post and it looks like only about £80 this month - so the fact that I am only about £100 lower than last month so far means that I have actually done reallyw ell in finding money from other sources. I should get a little more money from them next month as I have had a few more opportunities from them this month including a fantastic one for $250!

I got banned from Mylot quite a long time ago. I wa snever sure why but I think it may have been because I uploaded too many photographs. Anyway I have managed to join back up again with them.

I seem to be waiting for lots of payments at the moment - it would be so helpful if they all arrived!

Grrrr...Inland Revenue!!

My husband has been in his new job for 5 weeks. His first pay packet was very small and was taxed at an emergency tax level. I gave him his P45 to hand in so that his next pay packet could be adjusted. He got his pay today and it was £400 less than I expected it to be. I aske dhim to sort it out and he said that he had not handed in his P45 as he didn't know the payroll address and he phoned the tax office and they said it was too late now. He needs to wait until he gets his P60 in early April and then he can claim a rebate. It looks like we won't get the money now until May.

My Monthly Target

I had a target of earning £1000 this month. Unfortunately it is gettig very close to the end of the month and I am not even at the level I was at the end of last month. I found that taking a few days off really effected my earning potential. I took a weekend off and then the following weekend was easter and I took 5 days off. I didn't choose this holiday but I was just too busy to work. I found that it took me quite a few days to get back on top of things and start earning again as well.

This sounds like a lot of excuses but what actually concerns me is how reliant my business is on me doing stuff and if I cannot be around then I earn very little. It sounds obvious but it is what has lead me to thinking about trying to get more passive income - not because I am lazy but because it is a better way to get income.

Passive Income

The best way to earn money is of course passive income. This is money which you earn by doing nothing - such as interest on money in the bank. I consider any paid advertising to be passive income - things such as banner ads and text links which earn me a monthly income. It would be great to have more passive income and I have been thinking about how to get it.

I consider earnings I get through referrals to be passive income. Once I have that referral then the money comes in with me doing nothing. I have therefore been wondering whether to buy some more referrals for Bux.to. I have made a profit so far from upgrading my membership and buying referrals. The only disadvantage is the amount of time they take to pay. I have decided to wait until I get my next payment from them and then consider what to do.

Am I Becoming too Money Obsessed?

Everything I do is centered around money. I earn a smuch as I can each day and think about ways to save. I searh for dropped coins on the street and rack by brains to think of ways to pay my mortgage off early on a daily basis.

Sometimes I wonder if this is healthy? I know people think I am greedy and silly but I would love it if I could have money to pass onto my children and could let my husband retire early. I think also that I woudl go completely mad if I didn't have some goals to aim towards.

Would You Like to Never Work Again?

My long term aim is to have enough money invested so that I can comfortably live off thepassive income that I receive. However, thinking about this has got me wondering how I woudl be without a job. Would my brain turn to mush? Would I end up just watching daytime TV all the time? Would I get fat and ill?

I still like the idea of having that financial security....but as for stopping work.....maybe not!!

I am thrilled to say that I have just received my first payment from Pure Profile. They are a survey company. I am Back!

After a rather hectic Easter weekend I am now back at home and catching up with things. Book Selling

The book selling side of my busines is not doing as well as it used to. I have found that certain titles such as Chalet School books still sell very well from my website, ebay shop and amazon store. However, other second hand books are doing very poorly. If I buy the book myself I have a job to make a profit. I go to a monthly bookfair and buy books from someone there. Unfortunately I have been making a loos on the books she has been selling me and I do not know how to tell her that we will not be buying form her any more. I have been delaying telling her for about 6 months as she searches for specific books for me and the money that I pay her covers her costs of going to the bookfair. She has become a good friend and it is so hard to know what to do.

Jem Investments

I have $60 invested with a friend who is a FOREX expert. It has beenalmost a year now and I have had almost as much interest as my holding is worth. I invested $100 in another scheme that she set up but unfortunately this was not as sucessful and she is cashing in the money having only paid out a small amount of interest. I was in two minds as to whether to take the money back or to put it in with the other investment. She made me an offer of 14% interest for this month if I reinvest the money so I have decided to do it. I know my money is safe with her and if I need the money towards paying off my mortgage I can always ask for it nearer the time. It is also a good way of spreading my risk.

Easter

Well Easter is coming and I have decided not to buy presents this year I never used to but my husbands family tend to buy chocolates and things especially for the children. I have put some money in the boys trust fund for their present and I normally buy something for my inlaws but we are throwing an anniversary party for them so I have decided that is enough! I have got the boys to make some cards for a few people and that will be it this Easter.

As part of a forum posting task that somone was paying me to do I signed up to a forum and left some posts. I was paid for the task and forgot about it. This Month's Target

As I have done so well today, it has made me really determined to make £1000 this month. It would fantastic to start making significant increases in my earnings each month. If I increased my earnings each month by £150 I will be earning well over what my husband is earning by the end of the year! I have never earned more than him before so that woudl be amazing!

Earn with Amazon

Some of you may be familiar with the fact that Amazon run an affiliate scheme where members can receive a percentage of the income gained from sales that have resulted from leads they have generated. Amazon provide many tools to help you generate leads, banners, text links, search bars, books lists and even shopfronts. I have been using this sucessfully on my Topsy and Tim site for a while. However, I was trying to think of ways to increase the income it made and came up with a very sucessful idea.

I have a website selling books and my main seller are chalet school books. The books that I have listed on this site are also listed on Amazon. I decided that some of my customers may look down my book list and not find what they wanted. So at the end I now have a link to Chalet School books on Amazon with a mention of my seller name on there so people can buy from me if they want to support me, but like the Amazon umbrella to build more security around their purchase and the greater selection that they to offer.

I have only had the link up for a few days. The day before yesterday someone went through my link and spent over £193 on books earning me over £10 in commission. As a bonus they even bought one of the books I was selling so I made the profit from that sale plus the commission. Yesterday I also got a sale. I have now earned enough to take me over the minimum payment threshold which is fantastic.

A Fantastic Day!

The day started off quite slowly. But when I returned from going out to the post office there was a £50 cheque sitting on the door mat from Yougov who are a survey website. This is my second cheque from them and although it takes a while to earn the surveys are interesting.

Then I switched on my computer and had recieved a payment for some articles I had written - $250. Later I got some Pay Per Post payments, adding up to $24. Taking out Paypal fees etc I have received about £120 today and I haven't really done much work and it is still mid afternoon so there may be more to come!

Housing Market Investment

Property Investment was very popular during the 80's and 90's. This was partly because of the fact that the stock market was not peforming quite as well as expected but also it was just a growing trend. People seemed to be able to find cheap houses, maybe at auctions or maybe as a result of a house reposession. Many people bought properties and invested further money in having them done up with view to rent them out and get an income from their investment as well as gain from increasing house prices when they sell in the future or made an attempt to sell house fast to quickly cash in. However, with interest rates rising, the buy-to-let market getting flooded and house prices falling it is no longer such an attractive investment.

I received a payment from Google Adsense today, which is great. I tend to get two or three a year from them for just over $100 at a time. It isn't a huge amount of money considering how many websites I have that use it. However, it is easy money so I think of it as a great bonus.

As a Mum of toddlers I will be as busy as normal and I have a bookfair to go to this morning and have to come back quickly so that I am well in time to prepare lunch for my in-laws who are visiting for lunch. I am looking forward to the time, when the boys are a lot older, that they can give me a bit of time off!

I spent just £56.83 buying a domain and hosting. So my total earnings this month were my best so far at a total of £852.63. I am really pleased with the fact that I have started earning through writing articles and posting on forums. It makes up for the fact that I will not be earning so much through Pay Per Post next month because the opportunties that they have been offering me have been getting less and less.
