Prepare for the Snow

All these frosty starts have me thinking that perhaps we might be gettings ome snow soon. I have heard rumours that it will be a cold winter but I am never sure whether to believe them or not. I will be making sure I buy myself a sweater in the sales though and maybe even a winter coat as they will always be useful, even if not this year. I will be making sure that we have enough logs and kindling for the fire, just in case the central heating plays up or it is still not warm in the house. I will also be getting some antifreeze in for the car as well as some snow chains to make sure that we are prepared, just in case the weather does turn really cold.

Beauty Jobs

If you are looking for any type of jobs in the beauty industry then 'beauty jobs' is a website which could help you. They aim to become a great site where people can not only advertise jobs and search for jobs, so people in the beauty business can connect and fill roles. They also want to expand their community so communication between businesses and potential employees are really open and this can be a place where they can meet and discuss things. It would certainly be a useful resource for anyone who is interested in a job in the beauty industry.Take a look now and see what they have for you.

Spending out way out of the Recession

I have been mulling over for some time, the governments idea for getting the country out of the recession. I can see how spending money will benefit business but surely it will only get people into more financial trouble, which is surely why we are in this recession in the first place. I do not think that the recession is a big problem, if it can get people to borrow less money, pay back a bit of debt and then slowly start spending again, then surely we will all have learned a valuable lesson. Yes, businesses will suffer but the strongest and most determined will survive.

Cost of Christmas

I bet everyone is counting the cost of Christmas now. I wonder whether people spent less than last year. I know that I did. I think the sales in the shops may have tempted people to buy more gifts than they were intending to. Personally I found that none of the things that were reduced, were the type of things that I wanted apart from a few things in one shop. I never buy things because they are a bargain, only if I know I will use them and it is a genuine saving. Did you spend much this year and was it more than you can afford?

Buying Jewelry

If you are looking for some new jewelry then holsted jewelry could be a site worth looking at. They are a well established company selling all sorts of types of jewelry. By buying from a company which has been established for so long, you know that you are likely to be getting a really good quality product or good value for money. It is important when you are buying something special, either as a gift for a loved one or for yourself that you know that you are getting something which will last. So if you are shopping for jewelry, take a look at their website and see if there is something for you.

Christmas Gifts

I had so many Christmas gifts this year. I had some lovely big serving bowls, salad servers, flavoured vinegar in a pretty bottle, towels, toaster, bamboo blinds and a planner as well as some money which I am going to use to buy some clothes. The children were even more spoilt with new clothes as well as lots of farm animals, skittles, wooden golf set, games and lots of cars. They are poorly and so is their Daddy and so they did not enjoy it as much as they could have. The good thing was that we did not overindulge food wise as we did not have an appetite for it. We have just one last party tomorrow and a lunch out today and we will be back to normal again!

Merry Christmas

I hope that you managed to take advantage of some of the last minute sale prices and save some money this year. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas.

Wow - Mortgage Payments Down Again

I am so happy that we have a tracker mortgage, as yet again our payments have been reduced. At one time we were paying £450 on the £100,000 that we owe but due to cuts in rates we now only have to pay £205 a month. The frees up a significant sum of money to help pay off the sum that we owe.

Lawsuits

I think the amount of lawsuits around is getting ridiculous. I think that when people sue other people they just do not seem to think of the consequences. I would be very worried if I was a medical practitioner as to the risk of being sued. I have recently heard about problems with using a shoulder pain pump and patients suing because the drugs caused other problems. I think medical staff work really hard and as long as they are doing their best and have good reason to prescribe that particular treatment then suing is unfair.

What to buy?

I am trying hard to think of something exciting to buy for my husband for Christmas. It is out anniversary on the 23rd and I have got him some very boring coffee pods. I was hoping to get him some nice trousers but his size are all sold out. I have looked at electronic things like a lcd monitor but I am too girly to have a clue what to buy! I have also been stuck in as the children have been poorly for the last 2 weeks and I have not been that well either so it has meant that I have not been able to go to the shops to get idea. It is lucky that I have done all my shopping for everyone else as I am sure he will forgive me if I do not get him much.

Tax Bill

I will be staying away for a few nights over Christmas and even though it is just with relatives, I often wish that I had some new luggage. The bag we use is big and cumbersome, old and scruffy and is torn in places. I would love it if we could each have our own overnight bag new and lovely. I am sure the boys would love something with their favourite character on and I would like an nice, smart, soft, leather bag. I am earning well this month so you would think I could justify the expense but unfortunately my tax bill arrived yesterday for over £1000 so all my extra earnings will be going on that. At least I am earning enough to pay tax as often my earnings are below the tax limit.

Diet Pills

Do you ever find yourself wondering what is the best diet pill? I actually went into my local pharmacy and asked them this question. They explained to me that eating a healthy balanced meal was far better for you and more effective than any diet pill. Their ingredients include things which slow metabolism or clear things through your body more quickly. If you are being sensible with what you eat and drink, these should not be necessary.

Fat Burning

It is that time of year when we start to eat too much. I am nearly at my target weight and so do not want to put any back on during the holiday season. I know that some people will be taking fat burners and other diet pills to help them but I am doing the more cost effective thing of not overeating! I am only having a few days when it might be tricky to keep control over what I am eating and I hope that I can manage to not go too mad in between times.

Paternity Testing

In this day and age I do wonder why it is necessary for people to take a paternity test. We should all be sensible enough to know this sort of information and not get into the situation where they do not know. However, just in case someone is in this situation there are now tests available so that you can be sure who is the father of your baby.

Great Earnings!

This month has been so fantastic so far, I have had lots of blog posts to write and since Friday have written over 100 and earned over $500. I can hardly believe things are so busy as I would have thought the oncoming recession would have halted things for me. My husband has now been in his job for 6 months and has been offered extra work too. He is allowed to go on call overnight and some weekends and he earns money for that. He has done quite a lot of this and not been called out yet and so earned a lot of money for doing nothing. We should therefore see a big increase in our income and with mortgage payments and petrol significantly decreasing and me not spending much on Christmas things should be really good for us over the next few months.

Very Quick Update

I have been away for the weekend and have so much work to do now! It is great though as it means the money is still coming in. I have 70 x 300 word articles to write by Friday and I should get a nice chunk of money for that and I have other bits and pieces to do as well so it is really busy but fantastic. With the children poorly today and not at nursery, I will be busier with them but at least I will not have to spend 2 hours of my day walking them there and back.

A Great December

Well things are going as well as I had hoped this month. The book sales are picking up which is fantastic and I earned over £100 on the 1st of December. Yesterday was a little quieter and I have some family things to do today but I am still really happy and am sure that it will be a great month. I may not be able to pay some mortgage off though as I have my home insurance to pay in January so I will have to keep some money by to cover that cost, but you never know, if things go really well I might still be able to pay another chunk off, especially if interest rates drop again as some of the money I save from my mortgage interest will help towards the insurance. I feel really happy at the moment too - other things are going well too, my weight is dropping, I have a Christmas party at the weekend and the children are getting excited seeing all the Christmas trees and decorations about. I have done most of my shopping so it is all good - looks like December will be a good month all round.

November Earnings - My Thoughts

Well I am really pleased with my earnings in November. I thought that the credit crunch would mean that i woudl not find much work and certain areas are not as good as they used to be. I have been working with a new client writing blog posts and it is really paying well. It is hard work - I wrote 54 articles on quotes for term life insurance yesterday and it is not exactly my favourite subject but it is paying and that is all that is important at the moment. My finances are looking much healthier than I expected and once my credit card bill goes through and some more Paypal money goes into my current account, I should be able to pay a further £500 off my mortgage this month. I have done most of my Christmas shopping and am only entertaining on one day so should be fine now for spending over Christmas.

Cheap Gifts

At the moment I am trying to think of little stocking filler gifts for the boys. I had bought a pack of farm animals from a charity shop for £1.99 and was going to use those but my husband has asked his parents to buy some for the boys and we will be at their house on Christmas morning. The boys love pens but we have so many promotional pens that my husband has brought back from exhibitions that I do not like buying them. I have looked in a few shops, but everything seems so expensive. They have a few books and some pencils but otherwise I am stuck for really cheap things. Maybe I will revisit that charity shop and see if they have a bag of cheap cars.
