Value for Money

I talk to quite a lot of people who are finding things tough at the moment and do not have a lot of money to spend. I find it interesting that they tend to but extremely cheap things which wear out very quickly and then have to replace them. They think that is a good thing to do but if you add up the cost of that item over a year you will probably find that spending a little more in the first place would mean it would last longer and cost less in the long run. For example I would buy a Audemars Piguet watch than a cheap thing form a market and get a whole life's worth of use out of it than just a years.

Hi Rachel.
You´re right. Some things aren´t worth when we buy very cheap. Normally they lack quality.
It´s what happens here with the Chinese stores. They sell all sort of products very cheap but with less quality. I too prefer good quality but due some of my frugal insticts, I sometimes do bad deals.
A good weekend for you and the boys!

i know what you mean. however, sometimes people buy the cheap stuff because it's all they can afford at the time.

Yes, you do have a good point there. Sometimes, though I think people would rather have something cheap now, than wait and save for something better. Obviously if the thing they need is a necessity then this is different and as you say, they would have t go with the cheaper option.
