I have been feeling a little concerned recently about the fact that my husband no longer has a goal to build his own house. When I first met him, he was really keen on the idea and had all sorts of plans, but now he seems to think it is unrealistic and cannot see how he could afford to do it. This is such as shame as I have always thought of paying off our mortgage as the first step towards building a house. Once we have paid it off, all that interest we are saving can be saved up towards building a new house. I have lots of dreams of a large detached house with two granny flats, either for each of our parents or one for each son as they grow up, lovely gardens with wall fountains and vegetable patch and a long gravel driveway. I am sure if we work hard enough, we can make out dreams come true.
