We have decided that we need some major purchases for the house and that if we can get them now, while prices are low, we will. We have decorated the house and bought cheap storage boxes, paint and equipment and have managed to save a few hundred pounds which was good - probably about 10% in total. We are now making a much bigger commitment. We have decided to replace all of our windows and doors. We are getting about 23.5% off the list price and of course saving 2.5% VAT which could go back up again next year. We are also getting interest free credit on 75% of the cost which will be great. It is £11500 altogether, which is a lot of money that we could have paid off our mortgage. However, we do have large draughts in the house - there are gaps in the doors you can see through and we cannot safely open many of the windows in the summer. This means we are often too hot or too cold in the house and these are not good conditions for us to live and work in. We will probably have them done in late August and so will have to come up with the deposit then, which means no money off the mortgage until at least after then. We will also have to pay about £750 a month for the next year which could again mean not a lot off the mortgage. Hopefully interest rates will stay low and premium bonds will keep winning!

Starting Up a Business
Many people are starting tehir own businesses now that jobs are so scarce. This can be a really good idea but it is important to do some research before you start. Make sure that you understand all about how to keep accounts and fill out tax forms because if you do not pay the proper amount of tax then you may end up being fined for a lot of money. Another thing is to get corporate insurance. If you are providing a service then you will need to protect against people suing you and if you sell things you may also need to insure your stock. It can be expensive but it is necessary. Even if you are just a contractor you will need to think about insurance for contractors glasgow as nowadays people sometimes do not employ contractors if they do not have insurance. It is a good idea to shop around for insurance as there are good deals to be had if you look hard enough. make sure you are getting all of the cover that you need and that you woudl expect to get - do not assume anything. Whether you are getting liability insurance or shop insurance glasgow it is a good idea to write a list of requirements and make sure that your policy has all of these before you sign up.

Using a Good Accountant
I have been trying to decide whether top pay someone to do my accounts for me. I recently met someone who is a qualified accocountant in edinburgh and they were telling me about how many people do not claim everything that they can and end up paying a lot more tax than they need to. I found this really interesting and wondered whether, if I coudl save more money in tax than I would hav eto pay for the accountant then it would be worthwhile having one. They were telling me that the accountant jobs edinburgh are getting scarce and that they have been considering moving down south to find work. They have put their name down with a accountancy recruitment agency in the hope that they can earn more money if they move to make it worth all of the hassle. If they do then I will certainly be using their services.

Premium Bonds
I have checked my premium bonds and I won two £25 prizes. It is not a massive amount but it is great to see that my investment is giving me some return. My husband won £25 on his as well which is great as he buys £100 worth each month and has not won a prize for a long time. The money will come in useful to pay towards the decorating expenses.

Budget Skin Care
I have been looking into getting some cheap acne treatments again. I fid that the sun does not agree with my skin. Often the sun tan lotion gives me acne and if I do not use it, I get prickly heat so whichever way I end up with spots. I would much rather use sun protection and so I have been looking for something to treat the spots that I am getting. I am hoping that I can find something that is not too expensive as I do not like spending lots of money on toiletries.
Kitchen Changes
I have been thinking over all sorts of ideas with regards to my kitchen lately. With the cut price decorating that we are doing, I can only really afford to paint the room and buy a new table cloth and some chair pads. I would really like to have the flooring changed, a new worktop and breakfast bar and a new sink. I guess we just need to accept that we will have to do it slowly and do the things that we can afford to do now and then the other jobs when we have had a chance to save up or when we have paid off the mortgage. It is quite difficult not getting carried away.
Renovation
With all of the decorating that we are doing at the moment, we are getting carried away with the amount of things that we want to buy. Moving the furniture has made us realise that the carpet needs replacing as soon as possible and we need new curtains as well. We have also decided that we want one of the new zero radius sinks but we do tend to come up with a very expensive idea and then rethink and find a cheaper alternative. Hopefully we will be able to get the work we need doing done at a budget price but still get the quality and finish that we want.
Recession Survival
It is interesting that during this recession all people should be finding things tough. However, there are certain industries which seem to be doing extra well. I think that companies such as Pleasanton motorcycle accident attorney, supermarkets, budget shops and the like are thriving in this tough time. It is great to see that some people are managing to survive and that they will be able to provide a great service to those that need it all the way through the recession.
Getting Rid of Clutter
I am trying to get rid of a lot of clutter at the moment. I have managed to put quite a bit in the attic and throw away a lot. However, we still seem to have loads of stuff which could be useful one day but is just making a big mess in my house at the moment. Sometimes I feel like I need some steel buildings in the garden to put everything! Hopefully we will get time to sort out more of our things and get rid of some of it soon. I am hoping that as my husband begins to realise the joys of having a house with no clutter, he will be happy to sort through more of our things.

Holiday Costs
One of my friends was talking about Orlando vacations the otherd ay and it got me to thinking that we haven't taken the boys on a holiday yet. However, we cannot really justify the expense with all of the money that we are spending on the house. On the way home from play group one of the boys commented that he wanted to go on holiday to the beach for a day - I am sure we can manage that some time soon!
Escalating Costs
When I started the task of decorating, I thought that it would just be a cse of paying for paint. But now we have emptied rooms we have started thinking about whether to change curtain poles and curtains, light fixtures and lampshades and even carpets. As well as spending a lot of money on storage boxes so that we can store the children's toys under their beds and all of our books and videos in the attic. It is great to be getting the house looking great but it is costing a lot more than I had hoped.
Good Ways to Earn Money
I have been writing a lot of diet pill reviews lately and it has been really interesting. I love being able to learn new things at the same time as earning money and that is exactly what this has allowed me to do. I assumed that none of them worked, but when you actually look into it, you begin to realise that they can do some good as long as you use them sensibly and find out all about them first. There are different kinds which do dfferent things and some are better than others, depending on what you need from them.
Being Frugal
My husband has been looking into getting some KVM switches for his birthday. I have already bought him a new chair for his office and so I think that he is hoping that his parents will buy it for him. We are still trying to be as frugal as we can, despite deciding to stop paying money off the mortgage until we have finished all the work that we are doing in the house. We are saving so much money buying things at this time when there are good deals on. We have already saved £100 on paint and other equipment which is fantastic and more than one months interest.
