Saving money on Costumes

The boys have been studying pirates at school this term and had a pirate assembly. The day before we were asked to provide them with pirate costumes. I took a quick look in town and there was a set with a top, trousers, cape and hat for £8.99. It was so thin it looked like it was made of paper so I decided against it. Instead I made do at home and put them in stripy tops with belts on the waist, rolled up trousers and a hanky toed on tehir heads. They looked every bit the part and had loads of fun. They probably felt more comfortable as well, because they were wearing tehir own clothes rather than new ones.
