Solar Power

We have decided to go ahead with the solar panels, using a local fitter. We like the idea of supporting a local business and his set up will give us the best return on our money, assuming nothing goes wrong. The parts are guaranteed for the same time as British Gas, but his labour is only guaranteed for a year. This means that if anything goes wrong after a year we will have to pay to get it fixed. However, because he can fit a larger array, we will be able to make £5,000 more over the 25 years, just on the increased amount of Feed in Tariff we can get and then there is also the additional savings we will make on our electricity bill. It is a gamble, but we decided that it was worth it, especially as everyone says how reliable the solar panels are.
