Spending Money

I have found myself lately being far more relaxed about spending money. I think that there are a number of reasons for this and I need to really address them to make sure that I get back on track with my financial goals. We have recently cashed in some of our savings to pay for work on the house. This was a difficult thing for me to do, but now that it has been done, I am no longer worried about it as I think that it was the right decision. Since opening my mind about this spending I feel that my mind is more open about all spending. We have also had some extra income from cashing in some shares and some bonds maturing and it has artificially boosted our bank balance, even though the money was used to top up the savings that were spent.

I need to focus on saving again and not just buy things like pressure sensitive labels, clothing and food without considering the costs. I have to remember that I have a 0% credit card to pay off at the beginning of next year, I am not getting much interest on my savings so not making much passive income and I still have more than half a mortgage to pay off.
