I have just read a very interesting article on the BBC website. It explains have electronic book sales are increasing rapidly.
This is fantastic new for me. When I wrote my first electronic book in the early naughties, I could see that this was going to be a thing of the future. However, people tended to find that reading book on their computer screens was rather difficult and it was not until the launch of ebook readers, that things started to take off.
It was Amazon that lead the way, selling ebook versions of many of their top selling paper books. I soon jumped on the bandwagon and made my ebooks available to buy through them. It took a while before my sales started to become significant, but things slowly increased. As I added more titles to my selection, this helped as well.
I have just recently put my books on a site called Smashwords, which will publish the book in a whole selection of places for me. I am hoping they will be there well in time for Christmas. As the article pointed out, there will be many people who get tablets for Christmas and will be looking to buy books to put on them. I have always found that my post Christmas sales are very good and with my books hopefully appearing on more than one website, hopefully I will see a big increase in sales this year.
