£100,000 per child?

There are people that estimate that each child costs £100,000. This is very difficult to calculate and it will depend on how much you spend on them and how long they live at home or whether you continue to spend money on them after they leave home. However, there is no contesting the fact that the more children you have, the more money you will spend.

I think that people do not always consider this when they have children. As lovely as it is to have children, to have multiple children can be increasingly expensive. It is worth thinking hard about the sort of life that you and the children will have. You may think that they are more important than money, but there are some things that money can buy to make life easier. You may not be able to work for longer, with more children and so as well as having more money to spend, your income will be lower. You will also have to work a lot harder in the house, cleaning up after them and this can be stressful. A lack of money can also be stressful and it could mean that having an extra child may not bring the joy that you expect.
